AHHHH! It was so great to hear from my whole family this week!!!!! Yay!!!!!!
My week has been pretty great! Sister Edwards is a stellar missionary and we are making the best use of our time that we can. This month our Mission President is making a focus on finding people to teach --"February Finding". So we have been knocking on doors all week! In fact so much that my knuckles have busted open and now I have to use a golf ball to knock on doors. Oops! So yeah, our whole mission goes finding at least from 5-6:30 every single day and its been great! Normally that is when we have our dinner appointments but President wants us to find those people we haven't had the chance to find. We have found many many people who were open to us teaching them, but most of them were eating dinner when we knocked on the door so we ended up just scheduling return appointments with them. Now hopefully this week we can can actually get in their doors and teach them. But it was a pretty uplifting experience anyway because we were actually finding people who were kind and interested in us coming back!
We also saw a ton of miracles with our less actives. One day every appointment fell through so we ended up changing all our plans last minute. We ended up going on the a completely different side of our area and we were prompted to stop by a couple less actives that we hadn't had much contact with. One of them has had a history for being extremely rude so we were a littler nervous to see her, but nevertheless we went forth. So we stopped by and we were able to talk to her before she slammed the door on us. She actually opened up and told all her struggles with the church,. Turns out she just had problems with fitting in and was no longer interested in coming. Although we couldn't get her to commit to come back to church, she said we had cleared up some things for her so she no longer had hard feelings towards the church. So that was a little miracle. Now we will just keep checking up on her until she is ready again :) We also met some other less-actives that have the strongest testimonies but they have little desire to get up and go to church. It's a little frustrating but we are going to get their home and visiting teachers visiting them more often. And maybe even send the Bishop their way :)
We saw Mary Claire again this week! We hadn't seen her for awhile because she wasn't progressing but we felt prompted to go see her. Turns out she was having a super difficult past couple of weeks and she turned to the Book of Mormon for comfort. We asked her about baptism again and she was a lot less closed off than she had been in the past. She still doesn't know if she likes the idea but we invited her to sincerely pray about it. We shall see if she actually does.
This week we saw the Takacs several times and they are doing great! It's amazing to see the difference in their home ever since we have been going over there and teaching them. It just feels brighter and happier than ever. Sister Takacs especially has been doing so well and shes remembering that testimony she once had. She actually bore her testimony at church this Sunday and told everyone about her experience with us coming and knocking on her door. I can't remember if I told y'all this already, but we for several weeks kept being prompted to knock on the Takac's door. She avoided us every time, except for this one day when it was super super cold. She said she saw us through her side window and considered just telling us she was busy. But when she opened the door and looked into our eyes and smiles, she felt the spirit so strongly tell her that it was time for her to stop hiding. So she let us in and now she is beyond happy that her kids are finally getting baptized. The Ward has been great to their family! They have been so kind and wonderful about going up and talking to them and inviting them to different activities. It has really just been bringing the whole Ward together.
So yeah, that's what I can remember from this week. But over all it has been great! I am so grateful that the Lord is able to work through me and help me be a tool to bring forth this great and marvelous work! It's such a privileged to see these miracles our Heavenly Father brings about. I am so blessed to be able to be where I am and I know this is where the Lord would have me be! And I am so grateful for a supportive and loving family!!!!! The church is true! And Heavenly Father truly does know each and every one of us individually!
I love you family!!!!!!!!!!!
