Why hello there my beautiful family,
Wow I got lucky having two p days this week because I get to write you more, YAY!
The MTC is going swell! I LOVE THE VISITOR CENTER TRAINING!!!!! I've learned more in my visitor center training then I did in two whole weeks of the regular MTC classes. They literally jam soooo much into everyday. Its insane.
My new teachers are Sister Neslen and Sister Lamb. They are such AMAZING!!!!! Sister Nelsen is my favorite though. Funny thing. She super scared all of us our first class. She was super serious and asked very challenging and in depth questions. She made us feel like we knew nothing about the gospel and made us freak. But that was what made her such a good teacher! After she would ask us these super difficult questions we would attempt to answer in the best and most clear way we could. She would respond by saying ,"Prove it!" Then we all frantically would be searching in our scriptures for something that answered these crazy questions. As we found scriptures she would have us run up to the board and write it down. By the end of class the whole board was full of all these scriptures. One by one we read them and would discuss its importance and how it would help investigators understand the reasons for the things which we believed and did. It may seem like, yeah we were just reading and searching the scriptures, BUT IT WAS SO AMAZING. The spirit was just so incredibly strong. The coolest part was that these questions she had asked were questions that we had never even fully thought about. It was almost as if we were just used to brushing the surface of a subject rather then diving in and dissecting these amazing principles and teachings. It just made everything connect. Everything made more sense. This left us ready and prepared to receive more revelation so as we continued to study it was almost as if all we read was brand new. It was as if I had never even read the scriptures before. Everything just had totally different meaning and depth. I can't even explain. Wow it was cool. I feel like most questions that I have ever had were answered all in one class. The coolest part is that each class is like that.
AHHH! I feel like all the people from my last district need to come back and hear these lessons. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way :/
It seems like they save the best teachers for the visitor center missionaries. Well at least I'd like to think of it that way. It makes me feel special :) Hey speaking of which... They told us that only 2% of missionaries are called so serve in visitor centers. And how do they pick? They look at our pictures and if they see the light of Christ in our eyes through the pictures then we are meant to serve in visitors centers. I can't remember which apostle said that but they said that they knew by looking at our pictures that we had a super strong testimonies of the Atonement. I feel like this is so fitting and true because I feel like in almost lessons that I teach I naturally just always want to talk about the importance of the Atonement. In fact one person from my last district told me that almost everything I ever brought up in class was centered around the Atonement. Anyways, I thought that was cool.
What else... Oh we went to Temple Square the other day and they gave us a quick tour. It was super chill (Thankfully because I was losing it. I didn't get sleep the night before because Sister Reyes needed help packing and then had to leave at 2am). Anyways, they showed us a 30min video about visitor centers, walked us around the temple (IT WAS FREEZING OUTSIDE BTW), and took us to the see the Christus -- You know that statue of Christ). It was way cool and super neat to see other missionaries and how they work. Also my teacher knew them all because shes taught every single visitor center missionary in the past 2 years. So she's pretty cool. :) Also I'm going back to temple square Saturday evening to go talk to and teach people on the grounds so that should be great!
My new district is way neat! We have 12 sisters I believe? Some are going to the New Zealand Visitors center, the London Visitors center, the LA visitors center, and then there is me and my companions going to the Kirtland visitors center (just in case you didn't already know that).
So yep, that is what has happened since Tuesday.
I'm outta time fam bam :( Got to go, but one last thing...
I love my mission so much already! I've learned so much and I crave to learn more! I have learned to have a more optimistic attitude and to trust God. I know our Heavenly Father has a plan and that we need not worry. As long as we act and try our hardest He will make up the rest. When it comes to teaching and understanding I try my hardest to look through God's perspective. We may not get everything but we must have faith in Heavenly Father's plan. I think its so important for us to know how much our Heavenly Father loves us! We have to remember that we are NEVER alone, and that through Christ we can return to our Heavenly Father again. The church is true people!!!!!
Love you all,
Sister Call
