Okay, so I don't have much type to write because Sister Burns and I are going to the Johnson Farm really soon with one of the senior couples and its like 45 mins away. We have to go though because its closed part of the year and we also don't want to go in the summer because it's crazzzzyyy during the summer. Too many people. Anyways, I'll tell you about my week really quick and shortened...
This week has been pretty awesome here. It's super weird because I feel like I have two different lives. I have my visitor center life and then I have my proselyting area life. It's great though. Due to the splitting of time though, it's a little difficult to be able to have time to do everything we need to in our area. This week we especially focused on the members and getting to know them. We also have been meeting with all the less actives in the area and there are a lot! But it's great cause we get to go give them service and help them feel loved. This week we had 14 lessons which ain't too bad considering only being able to go to our area 4 days in the week. So we're working hard getting all sorts of things done. Ah... missionary work makes me happy!!!!
On Saturday I was proselyting and this super high guy way hanging out his window whistling at my companion and I and said,"hheeeeeyyyyyyyyuhhhh" and he was super creepy. But we just laughed it off trying to make ourselves feel more comfortable. This area is way sketch. It turns out that it was recently an Elders' area because of how sketch it is, but then since there are so many new Sister missionaries now, they decided to open it up again for sisters. Worries me a little, but mom and dad, we will be okay because we mostly do our proselyting during daylight time. Plus prayers work and we definitely know when we need to leave. The Holy Ghost has been a great warning voice!
Okay, another funny thing that happened was that we went to this house and a teenage girl answered. She looked at us super confused and then he two younger brothers ran to the door in excitement. Okay, so everyone here has two doors, first there screen/glass door and then their outside door. Anyway, one of the boys comes out the screen door, stands about a foot away from our faces and just stares and smiles at us. His aunt then comes grouching in and pulls him back into the house ans says "no no no we don't wantcha, we do not want to hears whatcha has to say!" and then slams the door. We were like alrighty and started walking to the next house when the two boys come running outside and stopped us. They said "we want cha card! Was that Jesus on the card? We want cha card!" (We were handing out "He is the Gift" cards.) So then we start telling them about the video they can watch and they take the card and walk away. We start to head off and then I turn back and wave bye. Then one of the boys yells out, "Can I have your numba???" (like that one youtube video if anyone knows that reference) And Sister Burns and I start laughing. He then said "Nahh really! I'm being serious!!!" We then pause. Look at each other. Look back at him. look back at each other. Then I said, "uhhh I think we're a little old for ya." and he says, "come on I'm 15!!!" And then we laughed way hard and continued to walk away. It was hilarious. You had to be there.
Last quick story. We went to this guy's door and invited him to nativities and to watch the He is The Gift video. He was super nice and introduced himself. (keep in mind, this man is a beautiful 26ish year old guy) and he asks us our names and it was funny because I forgot my name and looked at Sister Burns and then looked at him. Then I looked at Sister Burns and then looked at him again. And then I thought a little bit more. Then I looked at my name tag and pointed to it. I forgot my name. It was hilarious. And embarrassing. And I forgot how to talk to boys. Anyways, so that happened.
I'll tell you more about my experiences next week! I should have way more time. I love you family!!!!
