Another crazy week! Thank you for keeping Sister West and Morrison in your prayers. I know Sister West is recovering quickly and it seems like she will be able to stay on her mission. As for Sister Morrison, she isn't doing too well currently. But better than she was the first day but we just heard her lung collapsed again. She just had a major surgery and she will stay here in Ohio until she is able to fly home to continue her recovery. But that may be a while. It breaks my heart that these two sweet sisters had to go through such a tragedy! I know Sister Morrison super well. She went on emergency exchanges with me for a couple of days back when I served in Rootstown and she is a powerful powerful missionary. Keep them in your prayers please as well as all the other sisters here at the visitor center. The collection of sisters here aren't taking it too well, but we got to see Sister West the other day which lifted everybody's spirits. Its crazy how fragile life is and you really don't realize it until something happens to someone closes to you. The night of the accident we all received a message that the two sisters had been life-flighted after a serious car accident and that was all. It wasn't until the middle of the next day we got news that they would make it. It was terrible. But at the same time it made us all ponder the blessing we have of knowing the Plan of Salvation. And what an opportunity it is to be able to have a body and experience the things we get to while we are here on earth!
Besides all the trauma we had a had a pretty good week. We have been doing lots of finding as always and found a couple of new people to teach. While out contacting one day we saw a couple that we wanted to talk to but they were on the other side of a busy intersection. But an hour later we ran into them again and were able to teach them. The girls name is Dasha and she is sooo awesome! She literally responded perfectly to everything and she was so excited when we were teaching her. Turns out shes been searching for a church but she doesn't understand why there are so many. When we told her about prophets she got the most excited. She was like, "this all makes so much sense!" So we will be meeting with her later this week again.
We also met this other girl names Asianna and she is super cute. Shes a highschooler and she was walking home when we contacted her. We asked her what it would mean to her if she could have her family sealed to her for all eternity and she also got super excited. We ended up teaching her the plan of salvation and she asked if we could come teach her family.
The Takac's family are doing alright. Sister Takac's wants her kids to get baptized still but wont set a solid date. I guess bishop is going to work on her setting one because she won't listen to us anymore. I'll try to keep y'all updated on that.
But this week we saw a bunch of our less actives at church. I would say we had about 5 or 6 of our less actives at church and it got the whole ward pumped. We also have had a baptism in the ward almost every week this month which has been a huge miracle. The ward hadn't seen a baptism in a couple years until this last transfer. Pretty exciting! Its got the whole ward out looking for missionary opportunities now.
Well I can't think of anything else at the moment but all is going well. Hallelujah we are getting warmer weather because so many more people are out to talk to. Also I no longer feel like a popsicle! Also good news, I am not getting transferred anywhere by surprise my last transfer. Yay! Well, the church is true and I wouldn't rather be anywhere else right now but here serving the Lord and His children!!!!
I love y'all and miss y'all! Talk to y'all next week :)
Love,
Sister Katie Call
