Hi family!
First item of business- I AM GETTING TRANSFERRED! Uggg I don't want to leave this area or Sister Afoa! I only got Sister Afoa for one transfer! Not fair. But I also am excited for my new area and companion! I got released Sunday night and so yippee I am no longer a Sister Training Leader! I am probably going back to Kirtland Stake and will be serving in the Visitors Center again so that will be nice! We shall see who my next companion will be. This time I don't even have a guess. Being full pros makes it much harder to figure those things out! This week we saw Cara a bunch and she is doing great! Still on date for Nov 21st! She really is stellar! She has been telling every human being she knows about the church. Her family is even starting to warm up to the church because they have seen such a positive change in her. She didn't get to go to church this week or last though :( Satan is working really hard on her! But she is really trying to get there. She went to the ward Halloween party though and our ward is getting a little better at fellow shipping. Halleluiah. We also took her to Kirtland, did I already tell y'all about that? I can't remember. But she loved it!!! She wants to go back. We also went to the temple this last week and it was so good! I never feel greater peace than when I am in the temple!!!! And I feel like I learn so many wonderful things ever time I go!!! What else is new.... Oh Rosita our less active who hasn't been to church forever finally came!!!! And we started teaching her son Rayvon who has so much potential! I think he is 17 or 18 but he really wants to learn. We also had another one of our less actives, Sister Barton, come to church for like 3 weeks in a row now! We had been stopping by all the time trying to talk to them and they were super stand-off-ish. But then all of a sudden Sister Barton showed up to church. Plus she showed up to the ward Halloween party :) Tons of less actives and non members were there! We even set up a little table so the non members could ask us about our faith. Heavenlee and her friends/family came as well. So it was a great turn out. Sorry this email is so scattered! We are in a bit of a rush so I can pack and all! Well I better get going! But I love y'all all and I will have tons to tell next week! The church is true and I am so beyond grateful for this opportunity to serve! Love, Sister Katie Call Sister Pound with Sister Call and other sister missionaries that she goes on exchanges with.10/12/2015 Starred in student video project about Mormon missionaries -- and went to Pennsylvania this week!10/12/2015 Hi family! This week has been great!!!!! Okay before I forget, next week I may not be able to email y'all because we are planning to go to the temple on Friday. Which means no preparation day for us. So I will just have to write y'all all a letter. Okay back to my week. So this week we had exchanges and it was way fun. I went to Pennsylvania!!!!! I felt like a rebel... even though its in mission boundaries. Oh man though, that area is sketch. But I made it out alive. Sister Davis and I decided on our exchange to stop by all the DNC's (do not contact's) and surprisingly they were all super nice and we were able to clear up some things with them and got a few return appointments. It was a very productive exchange. I also got to exchange with Sister Pound in Alliance, and we transformed one of their investigators fridge. It was a miracle in of itself. I also have never smelled such a horrible thing. But in the end it looked pretty dang clean. And plus we had an awesome lesson with her afterwards. So exchanges went well!
This week we also saw a bunch of our recent converts and we mainly have been working on the new members lessons with them. All these girls are the best. The only downside to seeing them is they live on Kent campus which means we have to pay for our parking hahaha. We really just need to go make friends with the police men. Maybe if we share the gospel with them, they may just give us a free parking pass :) We also saw Cara a few times this week and she went to church!!!! Oh man though, for gospel principles we had the law of chastity lesson of course..... it always happens on investigators first sundays. (And we hadn't yet taught Cara about the law of chastity. In fact we were going to teach her that later Sunday night.) But of course, her first Sunday and that's the lesson and shes a single mom of three, never married, and has definitely never heard of the law of chastity. It was awkward at first and we also had some very very opinionated people in that class that said some offensive comments without even knowing Cara's situation. At first Cara seemed upset but then we turned the class around and made it positive again. Despite all that craziness, she loved it and we are now taking her to Kirtland tomorrow! Yay yay! She is literally the coolest!!!! Cara is a miracle. She seriously has been super prepared to hear the gospel. Even though the law of chastity lesson at church was a mess, she said,"Now that I know, I definitely am going to change my ways. And I want my kids to learn to so they don't make the mistakes I did" What?! We hadn't even committed her to do that yet. It was cool. Last fun thing we did this week was we had an interview with a student from Kent State. Last week we had tracting into an english professor from the school and he wanted one of the students to do a video journalism project about us. So with permission from President, we did this interview where she basically asked us what our missions were like and what we did and what we left. Both the student and her mom were super moved and they had tons of questions for us. They were great people and I think we might be able to start teaching them if we get to know them a bit more. They would make for some great mormons :) Well, that was the majority of my week. It was great! Saw lots of miracles! And the weather has been beautiful so that's also a plus!!! THE CHURCH IS TRUE BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!! I know with my whole heart that Heavenly Father has given us the Gospel because he loves us and wants us to return to Him :) LOVE YOU FAMILYYYYYY!!! Love, Sister Katie Call Hey hey hey! This week has been pretty awesome :) Sister Afoa and I are seeing lots of progress in our area. I am so so grateful that our area is full proselyting now because we have actually seen people progress. It was so hard before because the weekend is when everyone is available but now we have the weekends so yay! So Cara has a baptism date of Nov 21st. She is doing great! Last night we taught her and she told us about all her friends have been telling her to stop seeing us for weeks but for some reason she just felt like she should keep having us over. She says that when we teach she feels so much comfort and it all makes sense. Yay Cara! Also her kids have been behaving so much better now so teaching her has been easier. Plus we have been bringing members with us all the time to her place so shes got plenty of fellowship. Now hopefully we can actually get her to church this week! We saw Michelle this week as well and we ended up dropping her because she is too preoccupied with school and we are on the bottom of her priority list. Things with Heavenlee and her family are like a roller coaster. A family from the ward had us over and them for family home evening which was fun but Heavnlee and her mom are in a big disagreement so later in the week when we saw them there was tons of contention in their home. To the point that there was no use in trying to teach them. uggghhh. We started teaching David and Mary again, they are some formers. We taught them the restoration and it was a great lesson. David is stubborn but Mary is really opening up! We also started teaching these two Indian boys that are going to Kent state and they are so awesome! They are reading the book of Mormon and we had a great restoration lesson with them. It can be hard though at times because they don't speak much English but we are working through those kinks. Plus they are going to institute so thats great! Conference was amazing this week! We watched the sessions at different members homes which was great. We also watched some with the a group of the YSA! So awesome! And the talks this year were amazing!!!! I mean they always are but I just felt so uplifted by all of them. The beginning of this week was a little rough because of some anti that I heard that put me in a funk. But conference helped me gain the understanding that I needed and all my questions were answered. Wow those talks can be powerful! I am sure grateful for our prophet Thomas S Monson and all the general authorities who do so much for us each day. I loved every single talk! The church is true!!!! Family I love you!!!!!!
