FAM BAM!
First, its official. I"M TRAINING!!! And I don't have transfers until tomorrow so I have not yet met her! BUT AHHHH SHE PROBABLY JUST ARRIVED IN OHIO!!! I"M SO NERVOUS!!!! BUT ALSO EXCITED!!!!!
This week has been a heck of a crazy week. First we had zone conference last week and president decided to announce over the mic who was training rather than call each personally and ask us. SO UNEXPECTED! He even said he had never done it that way before, and the Assistants to the Presidents jaws dropped when he did it. I was pale white when he called my name first and asked me to stand. WOWZERS. I have only been out 2 transfers and I am training! This is crazy! So I get to meet her tomorrow! Also I get to start driving. Which I am also scared to death of because the snow and ice. AHHH!!!
Speaking of snow and ice. THE WEATHER HERE IS CRAZY!!! Yesterday it was -16 degrees and I thought I was going to die! My toes are always numb along with my hands. I'm getting used to it though hahaha :) It was -20 something degrees on Sunday so they canceled all church meetings. But, they had a sacrament meeting in the visitors center. The coolest part was that there were a bunch of cadets from the West Point who were on a church history trip. They just so happened to be in Kirtland and were already planning to go to the Visitor's Center on Sunday. So then one of the Senior Elders called them up and asked if they would come give us the sacrament. They all were in uniform and they gave all the sacrament meeting talks. I guess they were part of "LDS club" at their school so they get to go on field trips. It was neat to hear some of their stories.
Back on the subject of weather, it was so cold on Sunday, that they wouldn't even let us go to our areas so we were stuck inside all day which is really hard. Especially because we are so used to constantly doing things. We felt so unproductive compared to the usual, but we got lots of little tasks done. Oh yesterday we got 8 lessons in though to make up for it. It's no big deal or anything. Pshhh just 8 lessons!
Valentines Day was fun! We heart attacked a bunch of people in our area. We even got some responses from less active people who never talked to us before. Hopefully we can get a better relationship with them soon and get them to come back to church.
The Bob situation is under control finally! I don't know if he completely understands why we felt uncomfortable but he hasn't come since I talked to him last. He hasn't even called our phone! Hallelujah! I did tell him though that the Elders could teach him. He actually did still seem interested so we are going to get them over there.
I'm trying to think if there is anything I am missing! Sounds like the family is doing great!!! Shout out to Mom, Dad, and Kenny for writing me!!!! I don't have much time to respond to everyone this week, but y'all da bomb! Its also so great to hear about the missionary work going on over there! Keep it up! I LOVE Y"ALL TO PIECES!!!!
I am so grateful for all the experiences I have had and all the wonderful things I have learned. I hope that I am good enough to be a trainer and that I can impact my trainee in a positive way! The church is so true I have no doubt about that! Reading the Book of Mormon is by far one of my favorite things to do and I just have such a testimony of its' truth!!! Keep being awesome family!!!! AHHH I LOVE Y'ALL!!!!!
Much much much love,
Sister Katie Call :)
P.s. Thanks for the Valentines package/candy! I can already feel my teeth rotting hahaha jk :) But really, thanks!!!
